Ship Radio station license certificates are applicable for vessels which have radio equipment on board.
PISR flagged vessels trading outside coastal areas are required to have a contract with a radio company that is responsible for the ship’s communications accounts (Radio Accounting Authority, RAA). All vessels registered under these Regulations and subject to SOLAS regulation V/19-1 shall be required to transmit Long Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) information and to comply as per the requirements stated in the SOLAS regulations.
All vessels under the Palau Flag shall have their LRIT Tested only by those Approved Activation Service Providers (ASP) approved by the Palau Flag.
Permanent Ship Station licenses certificate are issued for a period of one year subject to annual renewal for both conventionally-equipped and Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDSS) equipped vessels and the licenses are subject to annual renewal.
