MARPOL Annex VI has been amended to permit the use of Electronic Record Books, in lieu of hard copies, for the purpose of recording discharges, transfers or other operations as required by Annex VI provided the electronic recording system is approved by the Administration on or before the first International Air Pollution Prevention (IAPP) Certificate renewal survey carried out on or after 1 October 2020, but not later than 1 October 25, taking into account Guidelines adopted by resolution MEPC.312(74).
