Amendments to Part A of the STCW Code

The functions in the standards of competence for electro-technical officers are provided at operational level, but the definition of the term operational level does not include electro-technical officers. This amendment would include electro-technical officers in the definition of “operational level” and clarifies their responsibilities. Electro-technical officers will be considered as being responsible at the operational level.
